Jarosławiec
Jarosławiec first appeared in historical sources in 1459, when the village was part of the Darłowo domain of the West Pomeranian dukes. Located in northern Poland between Darłowo and Ustka in the heart of the central coast, it is a charming fishing village surrounded by beautiful forests and two large lakes. Since the dawn of time, fishermen have lived here, who, in the moments between catches, collected and processed amber, of which a lot can be found in this area to this day.
In 1648, there were four peasants, seven cotters with their families, and seventeen farmhands living here. After several centuries, in the 19th century, it was transformed into a summer resort and remains so to this day. Currently, Jarosławiec is visited by over 5.5 thousand tourists every year during the summer. It then transforms into a vibrant village full of entertainment and many attractions, where everyone can find something for themselves.

When writing about Jarosławiec, it is necessary to mention its very specific location, which gives it a characteristic atmosphere. This is due to its long extension into the sea, which ensures the cleanest class of water purity on the coast. This is also intensified by the fact that there is no industry or mouths of larger rivers nearby.
A characteristic element of the Jarosławiec landscape - and at the same time the biggest attraction - is the lighthouse, whose light is visible from a distance of 24 nautical miles. It is one of 9 lighthouses on the Polish coast. This historic building from 1829 was built on a circular plan, from red and glazed brick. All floors are emphasized by decorative cornices. From the gable balcony, located at a height of 33 meters, there is a breathtaking view of the sea and two coastal lakes.
Another attraction is walking under a picturesque cliff covered with dune vegetation with protected sea holly and evergreen coniferous forest with a predominance of black pine, which in autumn is a real eldorado for mushroom pickers. The high cliff here is an example of the destructive power of the sea element. About 2-3 km behind Jarosławiec the cliff drops and tourists find a long strip of beautiful sandy beach.
It is worth going there in search of amber, especially after storms. Colorful cutters are moored near the coast, and fishermen offer fresh fish straight from the sea. Further on, a blue ship sails out to sea for trips, during which you can feast your eyes on the view of the cliff in all its glory. It is really worth it! The cliff shores stretch for
2 kilometers and in some places reach up to 45 meters high, where there are viewpoints overlooking the sea
Moreover, the entire neighbourhood of Jarosławiec is the so-called "Checkered Land", with incredibly interesting half-timbered buildings from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, commonly known as the "Prussian wall".
Jarosławiec takes on an incredible charm in autumn, when almost all the summer visitors leave and time seems to stand still.
It is worth noting that outside the season, only 329 residents are permanently registered in Jarosławiec. Most of them, like their ancestors centuries ago, are engaged in fishing and collecting the "gold of the Baltic Sea", i.e. amber. This peace lasts until summer, so people who want to experience peace and quiet, heal themselves with iodine, which is most abundant in autumn during storms, or simply want to escape the daily, city rush will certainly not be disappointed by a visit to this wonderful place.
